Hello all,
My name is Kelsey. I grew up in a small town west of Fort Worth called Aledo, TX. After struggling with where to go to college my senior year, I decided on TCU because of its size, location, and nursing program. I come from a long line of Roll Tide fans, but I am proud to call TCU home! If I were made Chancellor for the day I would build a parking garage by the stadium and put a Chickfala on campus! Yum, who doesn't love a good Chickfala meal every once in awhile? And let's be real... who really loves Market Square food every day of their lives? I think being a great teacher begins with passion for the subject they may be teaching. It is so much more enjoyable to come to class and do the assignments when those leading and helping you love what they do. Their passion will most often naturally overflow to the students. On the other hand, being a good student means prioritizing time well and being dedicated to the classes you are in. Without these two things, it is easy to grow apathetic and to not get things done well or at all. If I could have dinner with any three people in the world, they would be David Phillips, my former youth pastor who was killed in a car accident my junior year of high school, but still to this day is the wisest man I have ever met, Jesus, so I could sit at his feet and worship, and Steve Carell for comedic relief obviously! Three random things to know about me are that I just spent the summer in Ethiopia working for an adoption agency, that ice cream is my weakness, and that I am a Young Life leader in Fort Worth. Three things I would love to know about everyone in the class is their favorite desserts, if they would live anywhere in the world where would it be, and if you could have a rapper name what would it be? I took this class because it was required, but I am actually really excited about it. I think it will be a breath of fresh air from all of my nursing courses and will be a fun way to tap into my creative side that gets sidelined often in nursing. I do love to read, but unfortunately during the school years the only books I get to crack talk about diseases, anatomy, medications, etc. During the summers I love to read fiction, biographies, and Christian novels. My writing includes the obvious for any college student of texting, facebook, and e-mailing. However, two things I love to do are journal and write letters to my friends and family! I love making my own stationary and writing encouraging little notes. For the most part I love to write if I am passionate about the subject upon which I am writing. Formal writing can become cumbersome, but where there is creativity and freedom within assignments I thrive! I feel as if it allows me to truly convey my personality. My hopes are that my blog will convey my lively spirit through my writing. I consider myself pretty laid back, but with an outgoing side as well. I truly love life and try to live with as much joy and passion as possible. I chose this layout because although it is subtle it is by no means plain. I like the deeper colors with the design in the background. Hopefully it is pleasing to the eye and inviting. I hope my blog reveals that passion for life that I try to live out every day.
I have read and understood the syllabus.
Thanks for reading!

I saw you go to Christ Chapel via the David Phillips part. I go to Christ Chapel and I remember when that happened it was like all over my highschool, Arlington Heights. He was like everyones best friend. I completely agree with the Chik fila part that would be perfect. See ya in class
ReplyDeleteHi Kelsey! I think it's awesome that you are a young life leader! I've been attending the TCU young life meetings and I think it would be really cool to become a leader some day. My favorite dessert is bananas foster! If I could live anywhere in the world it would be somewhere warm and tropical and with beautiful beaches. Also, my rapper name would have to be... B-Ritt :)
